Ariat Saga Full Zip

Anyone who knows me, knows that I feel the cold all year round, so I love a great find of a winter warming item of clothing!

Santa very kindly brought me an Ariat Saga Full Zip Jacket, so I thought I'd give it a bit of a review for anyone looking for a lightweight, non-bulky way of keeping warm this winter.

Firstly, Ariat describe it as a jumper, but it is water and wind resistant so I've been wearing it as a jacket, with a baselayer and polo underneath. The jacket is softshell and lightweight, but don't let that put you off that it isn't warm - it is! We've had quite a lot of use out of it already, both hacking out & in the outdoor arena when temperatures have been zero!!

It is lined with a fleece that has a hexagonal pattern to it, which is actually quite clever! The pattern is designed in such a way that it traps the heat you generate, while moves any moisture to make sure you don't get a chill. Unlike a quilted jacket, this item doesn't heat you up by just putting it on, but as soon as your active, it's great at moderating your body temperature, keeping you warm without being too hot.

It's very comfortable to wear also. It fits a baselayer and polo underneath, and is also slender enough to put a jumper over the top if you're not active for a while. As part of AriatTEK Cold series it also features V3 stretch - in a nutshell 'v' shaped panels to give a close fit, ensuring maximum comfort & that the jacket is breathable.

There are TWO great things that I haven't yet mentioned - it is machine washable, & best of all, for a jacket of this kind, RRP is only £74.99

So, if you're looking for activewear to help you stay warm without the bulk, take a look at the Ariat Saga Full Zip!

Here we are hacking - you can't see the jacket that well but you
can see the difference in the number of layers between us!
& when we went showjumping indoors, the jacket didn't
overheat us but kept us warm.
