#Blogtober Day 20: Autumn & Winter Horse Shows

As I write today's Blogtober post, I've got no plans to attend any high level horse shows this autumn or winter. Instead I thought I write about the ones I would really like to go to maybe next year or in the coming years.

Burghley Horse Trials

Based in Lincolnshire, it's actually not too far for me to travel to watch this event live, and almost every year I sit and say "I'm definitely going next year"... I've yet to head down and experience it. Maybe 2019 will be the year we'll go!

I am absolutely glued to the TV however on cross country day, with it all captured on record thanks to the BBC Red button!

HOYS

A little further for us to travel, but again not too far hosted in Birmingham, another high profile show that I've never been to. I've often thought about it, but can never decide which day to pick - there's so much on each and every day. From watching beautiful showing ponies and horses parade around the ring to the adrenalin fuelled Puissance, there's something for lots of type of equestrian interests.

Olympia Horse Show

I've been to this show twice in the past and loved it both times - it's got such a cosy yet exciting Christmas feeling about it!! Usually the weekend before Christmas, it's another show with dressage and showjumping across many level, but perhaps most importantly, it has a GINORMOUS shopping village where you can spend hours (or at least I can!)

Liverpool International Horse Show

Running just a few weeks after Olympia, but much further north in Liverpool, this is one that has a fantastic reputation for a way to welcome in the new year. The final night's performance on the 31st December usually starts around 7pm and promised its crowds to have a fun and exciting atmosphere. This is another one that we've thought about going to watch but with the time of year being a busy one, we've never quite made the trip down.
